How Eazy Ads works with and supports the Gig Economy

Eazy ads is not your OOH (out of home) of old, it's a different ad medium that takes advantage of the new economy, the gig economy. The meteoric rise of Rideshare and other gig services has created a new class of vehicles that garner high exposure in front of your target audience, for advertisers and brands of various types and sectors. This truly is brand awareness and engagement for the modern age.

What is the gig economy?

"a labor market characterized by the prevalence of short-term contracts or freelance work as opposed to permanent jobs."

How Eazy Ads works with and supports the Gig Economy?

Eazy Ads is proud to contribute and support the gig economy whilst simultaneously providing value for advertisers and brands. When we set out with the Eazy Ads journey, one of our core values is to be driven by our purpose of bringing greater abundance into the lives of all those we collaborate with. This starts with actively supporting the gig economy and affording rideshare drivers the opportunity to earn an additional income by means of advertising on their vehicles.

Why is it called the gig economy?

The gig economy gets its name from each piece of work being similar to an individual 'gig' – although, such work can fall under multiple names. It has previously been called the "sharing economy" — mostly in reference to platforms such as Airbnb — and the "collaborative economy" This sector has grown immensely, bringing economic benefits of productivity and employment. Over the last few years, it has allowed thousands of people to make their own schedules and earn extra money.

In our context.

In the current South African environment, we find ourselves in, this is sorely needed. Stats SA’s latest Labour Force Survey for the second quarter paints a grim picture of unemployment in the country – showing there were 7.8 million jobless South Africans in the second quarter, representing 34.4% of the population. This paints a bleak outlook for SA's workforce. The gig economy can form part of the recovery framework for South Africa and be a driving force to reduce the high unemployment rate that Covid-19 brought about. Rideshare platforms are one of these avenues.
